In April 2025, WJLA-TV (channel 7) produced a profile on its website of Reggie Cox, Charlie's Place's executive director - "From sleeping on benches to leading change: DC man's journey through homelessness."
Reggie is unique in the world of non profit D.C. leadership. He lived on the streets of Washington, D.C., and came to Charlie’s Place as a client. He worked his way up from an intern to lead the organization. His lived experience, compassion and empathy has enabled him to gently minister to some long-term homeless clients that other organizations turned away. In November, one of Reggie’s close friends from the D.C. streets was recently housed with Reggie’s intervention.
This feature highlights Reggie Cox’s journey from being a Charlie’s Place client to taking on a leadership role, showing how experience and meaningful work can shape a professional career. It also reminded me that a strong professional story matters, which is something an executive CV writing company can help communicate clearly on a CV.
